Your Credit and Why You Should Check It

Wells Fargo consumer news is very disturbing.  Wells Fargo fires 5300 employees for creating over 2 million fake accounts read here  

How many other banks have or had this same practices? Always check your credit report annually at all 3 credit bureaus.  Did you know you have a right to at least 1 free report (some States allow you to pull your reports every 6 months) from each Equifax, TransUnion and Experian?  The only website authorized by Federal law is www.annualcreditreport.com.

Always remember if you are thinking of purchasing a home or car it is always good practice to pull your credit reports.  It is advisable to do this at least 6 months in advance.  This way there are no surprises when applying for credit. Corrections can sometimes take in excess of 90 days.  Be prepared don’t get caught by surprise.
